As a Nigerian teacher in diaspora, proceed with your TRCN exam registration as follows:
1. Confirm your documents
Ensure that all the required documents mentioned above are ready before starting your registration process.
The fee is paid into the Federal Government account and there is no refund afterwards, no matter the reason.
2. Pay the fees
Payment to register for TRCN abroad is done via an online platform called “REMITA”.
The fee for “online PQE” (the TRCN exam) you intend to write without travelling down to Nigeria is ₦30,000 (as seen on their latest circular shared below).
Now, to the procedure.
Follow this Payment Process
- Visit the REMITA platform.
- Under “Who do you want to pay?“, select TEACHERS REGISTRATION COUNCIL OF NIGERIA.
- Under “Name of service / purpose“, select PROFESSIONAL QUALIFYING EXAMINATION APPLICATION FEE.
- Ignore the “GIFMIS code“.
- This is VERY important (Don’t forget)! Under “Description“, type ONLINE EXAM.
- Under “Amount to pay“, type 30,000.
You’ll notice that the box under “Select currency” is auto-filled as NGN – NIGERIAN NAIRA which cannot be changed.
So, it is best to have a Nigerian bank account or pay through a TRUSTED third-party. (We offer this service. CLICK TO SEE HOW)
- Under “Payer’s name“, enter your FULL NAME as they appear on your certificate.
- Under “Payer’s phone“, you will notice a small NIGERIAN FLAG at the left corner of the box.
- Click on the flag to select the COUNTRY CODE that starts your foreign number.
- Enter the rest digits of your PHONE NUMBER.
You can also use a Nigerian number but let any number used be active and accessible to you because TRCN will add that number to a WhatsApp group and also keep in touch with you through that number.
- Under “Payer’s email“, enter your active EMAIL ADDRESS.
You will receive the receipt of your payment to that email and TRCN will also be contacting you on it.
- Click the I’M NOT A ROBOT box and wait for it to tick.
- Click on the SUBMIT button to make the payment or RESET to clear all your entries and restart the process.
3. Send your documents
After successful payment, the receipt (with the amount and details provided) will be sent to your email.
Forward that receipt to the TRCN headquarters via their email: info@trcn.gov.ng and await a reply.
