WAEC conducts two exams: SSCE (internal) for school candidates & SSCE external (formerly, GCE) for private candidates.
WAEC SSCE (internal) and WAEC GCE English syllabus are the same.
Because all the topics where your Literature questions will be asked from in SSCE (internal) are also found in the WAEC GCE Literature syllabus.
How many questions are asked in WAEC Literature exam?
Whether it is WAEC internal or GCE Literature, you’ll answer a total of about 160 questions in three compulsory Literature papers.
- PAPER 1: will have 50 objective or multiple choice questions for you to answer in 1 hour.
- PAPER 2: will have two sections with about 4 theory questions for you to answer 2 in 1hour 15minutes.
- SECTION A – will have 2 theory questions on the African Prose for you to answer 1.
- SECTION B – will have 2 theory questions on the Non-African Prose for you to answer 1.
- PAPER 3: will be on the Drama and Poetry texts with four sections to be answered in 2 hours 30 minutes.
- SECTION A: will have 2 theory questions from the African Drama for you to answer 1.
- SECTION B: will have 2 theory questions from the Non-African Drama for you to answer 1.
- SECTION C: will have 2 theory questions from the African Poetry for you to answer 1.
- SECTION D: will have 2 theory questions from the Non-African Poetry for you to answer 1.
