Voiced consonant /ʃ/
Consonant /ʃ/ sound is pronounced like that sound you make when you are telling someone to be quiet — “shhh“.
It is popular in words with –sh-.
Similar to consonant /tʃ/ sound, this shhh sound /ʃ/ is also “voiceless”. So there is NO vibration in your throat when pronounced.
Notice that the /ʃ/ sound has a free flow of air through your mouth, unlike the CONSONANT SOUND /tʃ/ which has an initial obstruction of air before release.
