WAEC conducts two exams: SSCE (internal) for school candidates & SSCE external (formerly, GCE) for private candidates.

WAEC SSCE (internal) and WAEC GCE Maths syllabus are the same.

Because all the topics where your Maths questions will be asked from in SSCE (internal) are also found in the WAEC GCE Maths syllabus.

How many questions are asked in WAEC Maths exam?

Whether it is WAEC internal or GCE Maths, you’ll answer a total of 60 questions in two different but compulsory Maths papers.

• PAPER 1: will have 50 objective questions to be answered in 1½ hours. 

• PAPER 2: will have 13 theory questions in two sections (A – B) for you to answer ONLY 10 in 2½ hours.
  • SECTION A – will have 5 compulsory questions.
  • SECTION B – will have 8 questions for you to answer any 5 aside the one(s) that are not for candidates in your country.

Expect about 63 questions to answer 60 in your WAEC Maths exam from different topics under these main areas of concentration:
