WAEC conducts two exams: SSCE (internal) for school candidates & SSCE external (formerly, GCE) for private candidates.
The WAEC SSCE (internal) and WAEC GCE CRS syllabuses are the same.
Because all the topics where your CRK questions will be asked in SSCE (internal) are also found in the WAEC GCE CRK syllabus.
How many questions are asked in the WAEC CRK exam?
Whether it is WAEC internal or GCE CRK, there will be two (2) papers, both of which must be taken in one sitting.
WAEC CRK Examination Scheme
- PAPER 1: will consist of fifty (50) multiple-choice objective questions, all of which must be answered within 1 hour for 40 marks.
- PAPER 2: will consist of nine essay-type questions. Candidates will be required to answer four questions within 2 hours for 60 marks.
The questions will be arranged in sections as follows:
Section A: Themes from the Old Testament—four questions.
Section B: Themes from the Synoptic Gospels and the Acts of the Apostle—three questions
Section C: Themes from selected Epistles—two questions.
Candidates will be required to answer four questions in all, choosing at least one question from each section and the fourth question from either Section A or Section B.
The Revised Standard Version of the Bible will be used in setting questions.
GCE CRK Examination Scheme
There will be two papers, both of which must be taken.
PAPER 1: This will be a 60-minute multiple-choice (objective) test paper consisting of fifty (50) questions drawn from the entire Christian Religious Knowledge syllabus. Candidates will be required to attempt all the questions.
PAPER 2: This will be a 2 1/2 hour essay-type paper consisting of three sections A, B, and C. Four questions will be set for each section in PAPER 2. Candidates will be required to answer four questions in all choosing at least one question from each section.
The Revised Standard Version of the Bible will be used in the setting of questions.
