WAEC conducts two exams: SSCE (internal) for school candidates & SSCE external (formerly, GCE) for private candidates.
The WAEC SSCE (internal) and WAEC GCE Civic syllabuses are the same.
Because all the topics where your Civic questions will be asked in SSCE (internal) are also found in the WAEC GCE Civic syllabus.
How many questions are asked in the WAEC CIVIC exam?
Whether it is WAEC internal or GCE Civic, there will be two (2) papers, both of which will be on composite paper and will be taken in one sitting.
- PAPER 1: This will be a 1-hour multiple-choice test consisting of fifty questions drawn from the entire syllabus and will carry 40 marks.
- PAPER 2: This will be a 2-hour essay-type test consisting of three sections: Sections A, B, and C.
Each section will contain three questions.
Candidates will be required to answer four questions, choosing at least one from each section.
The paper will carry 60 marks.
The sections shall cover the following areas of the syllabus:
